
PUBLIC NOTICE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PROPOSED PROJECTS FOR THE 2019 CRAWFORD COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG), OBO VERNON TOWNSHIP CDBG PROGRAM AND OBO CITY OF MEADVILLE CDBG PROGRAM The Crawford County Commissioners intend to submit an application for Crawford County to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The total amount of the FFY 2019 CDBG funding being requested is $282,898.00 for the County allocation and $106,676.00 for Vernon Township’s allocation, and $298,504.00 for the City of Meadville. The total request to the DCED will be $688,078.00 dollars. Based on this amount, the Crawford County Commissioners propose to allocate the CDBG funds to the following activities: 1. West Fallowfield Blight project $25,877.00 2. Steuben Township Municipal Building – Removal of Architectural Barriers $40,000.00 3. Venango Fire Department Fire Fighting Gear $45,000.00 4. Linesville Borough Waterline Replacement $121,100.00 5. County Program Administration $50,921.00 6. Vernon Township Municipal Building – Removal of Architectural Barriers $87,475.00 7. Vernon Township Administration $19,201.00 8. City of Meadville Code Enforcement $40,000.00 9. City of Meadville Paving $204,774.00 10. City of Meadville Administration $53,730.00 A public hearing to discuss and receive comments on the proposed use of the FFY 2019 CDBG funds will be held on Thursday August 15, at 3:00 PM in the Crawford County Courthouse Commissioner’s Conference Room at 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335. The Commissioners will also accept written comments on the proposed use of FFY 2019 CDBG funds until August 29, 2019 at 3pm. Please address all comments to the Crawford County Planning Office, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335. Pending no adverse comments, the Commissioners will consider the approval of the CDBG application at the regular meeting on October 23, 2019 at 9:30 AM in the Crawford County Courthouse Assembly Room at 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335. The Crawford County Planning Office will submit the final approved CDBG application in early November, no later than the deadline for submission.
